AFL boosts client services team

AFL Investments has announced the appointment of Kevin Grant as lead wealth manager and Mark Bendzsa as a financial consultant to boost its client services team.In his new role Mr Grant will be responsible for providing financial planning services and investment product advice to AFL Investments clients, which include local businesses, trusts, endowments and high net worth individuals.He has 20 years’ financial sector experience in business development, investor relations, marketing, sales, investment services and securities transaction related activities, including mutual fund research and execution services.Prior to joining AFL Investments, Mr Grant held the role of senior vice president - business development at SGS Asset Management based in Florida and Switzerland. He also has prior experience working in Florida for Citigroup (Smith Barney) as a financial consultant; Epsilon Investment Management as a senior vice-president; and Edward Jones Investments as an investment representative.He began his career in Bermuda in 1988 with HSBC Bermuda (then Bank of Bermuda) as a management trainee, rising to the post of assistant manager - investments, mutual fund service by the time he left the business in 1995. He also worked for Bermuda International Securities Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC Bermuda, as head of mutual fund services before relocating to the US.Mr Bendzsa is also an experienced financial services professional with a broad finance background. In his new capacity he will be primarily responsible for the provision of investment support services to Bermuda Life Insurance Ltd. and orientation for pension clients regarding funds and their structure. He will also be providing clients with group pension market updates and co-ordinating the production of investment commentaries to accompany pension statements.He previously worked for HSBC Bermuda as a senior relationship manager in its multinational corporate banking department and for Capital G Bank as a business development manager for its private and business banking division. Mr Bendzsa began his career in Toronto, Canada in 1996 as a mutual fund trader for RBC Dominion Securities Inc. He later became an investment adviser for the company before he relocated to Bermuda to take up the role of investment advisor/trader with Barrington Investments Ltd. from 1998 to 2004.
