Tokio Millennium donates to BFIS
Tokio Millennium has given a third donation of $10,000 to support BFIS, the Bermuda Foundation For Insurance Studies.
It is the third donation to BFIS from the global reinsurer.
BFIS Chairman, Michael Fisher thanked Tatsuhiko Hoshina, president and CEO of the global reinsurer, saying “The continuing support from our donors is very important to BFIS as it
underscores that insurance companies based in Bermuda understand the importance of what
BFIS does.
“Donations help us to maintain the level of our scholarship awards, as well as supporting our career guidance, internship, mentor networking and job search programmes.”
Mr. Hoshina responded: “The Donations Committee at Tokio Millennium Re is committed to
supporting programmes in Bermuda focused on youth and education and we believe that BFIS
offers great opportunities to young Bermudians wishing to continue their education.
“In addition
to providing scholarship funds, a number of our staff also act as mentors to BFIS University
Scholars.
“Tokio Millennium Re also hosted the 2013 summer interns for an educational and insightful afternoon in May and is always delighted to welcome former graduates of the
scholarship programmes and internships, either as summer students or as full time employees
post-graduation.”
