Hannah Tildesley: promoted to partner at Appleby
Lalita Vaswani: promoted to counsel at Appleby

Law firm Appleby has announced a new partner and a counsel promotion in its Bermuda office.

Hannah Tildesley, of the firm’s dispute resolutions team, has been promoted to partner – one of eight senior promotions made by Appleby across its Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman and Jersey offices.

Ms Tildesley specialises in international commercial litigation, with a particular focus on banking and funds litigation, director and shareholder disputes and contentious trust disputes. Many of the matters in which she is instructed are multi-jurisdictional and frequently involve complex cross-border issues and conflict of laws.

Lalita Vaswani, another member of Appleby’s dispute resolution team, was promoted to counsel. Ms Vaswani has a background in commercial and corporate litigation with a focus on restructuring and insolvency.

The other new partner appointments are both in Appleby’s corporate team, Shana Simmonds, who is based in the BVI, and Peter Colegate, of the Cayman office.

Malcolm Moller, Appleby group managing partner, said: “These men and women, based in our various offices globally, are talented legal practitioners and I am delighted to announce these promotions. The promotions highlight our strength globally as we continue to navigate through challenging but exciting times.”

The other counsel promotions are Dean Bennett, Esmond Brown and Alexandra Simpson in the Cayman office, and Kevin McQuillan in Jersey.

Appleby said some of the promotions are subject to approval by immigration authorities.
