Deloitte has introduced a suite of new artificial intelligence features within its global cloud-based Omnia Audit and Assurance platform, designed to enhance the audit process.

The new capabilities integrate generative and agentic AI technology to streamline audits and improve efficiency.

François Lamontagne, audit and assurance leader for Deloitte Caribbean and Bermuda, said the enhancements reflect the growing complexity of digital businesses.

“We understand the robust scope and oversight that is needed as our clients and the business environments they operate within utilise increasingly more digital processes and data,” he said.

“Our audit practice has recognised the optimised benefits of investment in our audit technology, to incorporate AI tools to help drive quality and trust in our continued elevated service to our clients.”

Among the new generative, AI-enabled features are tools that review audit documentation for clarity and consistency, assist with navigation of financial statements, extract and summarise data across documents, draft audit-related communications and memos, deliver faster answers to complex research questions, and flag potential risk events using external data sources.

Laurie Mernett, audit innovation leader for Deloitte Caribbean and Bermuda, said the technology would continue to reshape the profession.

“Transformation is at the heart of our audit innovation. Our Omnia platform embraces the new age and, aided with generative AI modules, provides our people with the tools to best serve our clients,” she said.

Looking ahead, Deloitte said it is integrating intelligent AI agents into Omnia. These digital specialists can complete tasks, remember relevant information and work with other agents as part of an interconnected system.

Anna Burns, Deloitte Bermuda’s audit and assurance leader, said: “The integration of AI into our processes strengthens how we analyse and interpret data. This empowers our professionals to focus on delivering deeper insights and trend analysis, which enhances the quality of our audit committee interactions.”

All developments, the firm said, are aligned with Deloitte’s Trustworthy AI framework to ensure governance, compliance and client confidence.

Omnia, launched in 2015, has been central to Deloitte’s global audit innovation strategy. Last year, the platform earned the inaugural AI Innovation Initiative of the Year award at the International Accounting Forum and Awards.

Today, nearly 85,000 Deloitte audit and assurance practitioners use the platform worldwide, supported by purpose-built large language models and chatbots. The firm reported more than three million AI prompts run in the first year of use.

Deloitte also recently launched its Global Agentic Network, offering a suite of AI agents designed to help clients scale adoption of the technology.
