RA and BDC connect the dots at subsea cable conference
Representatives from the Bermuda Business Development Agency and the Regulatory Authority of Bermuda were in Singapore last month for the largest annual gathering of subsea communications professionals.
The BDA said Bermuda’s participation in Submarine Networks World 2025 also marked the launch of a wider East Asia engagement mission, with BDA executives travelling on to Hong Kong for investor meetings aimed at deepening ties with businesses seeking to expand across the Atlantic corridor.
The gathering was also an opportunity for sponsorship of a networking reception for industry leaders, investors and technology innovators.
Kendaree Burgess, managing director of the BDA, said: “Bermuda has close partnerships in both the United States and Europe, uniquely positioning it to become the Atlantic’s physical and digital crossroads.
“The strength of our regulatory framework and blue-chip business climate, combined with global endorsements from some of the biggest tech companies in the world, make it clear that Bermuda is a secure and business-ready jurisdiction for subsea infrastructure.”
To bring further awareness to the strategic industry opportunity presented by the territory’s regulatory approach, Craig Davis, senior manager of electronic communications at the RA, participated in a conference panel titled “Connecting the Caribbean — A Sudden Surge in Subsea Activity”.
As a part of this session, Mr Davis outlined how Bermuda’s approach balances investor confidence with long-term resiliency and sustainability in the industry.
