Tucker’s Farm Corporation acquires football brand
Tucker’s Farm Corporation, a value-oriented investment holding vehicle, has announced the acquisition of Soccer 5, a small-sided football brand. The acquisition was completed via the farm’s platform, Wonder Franchises.
Founded in 2010 by Alan and Scott Georgeson, Soccer 5 designs, builds and operates football facilities for all ages and skill levels. The Georgesons will retain meaningful ownership in the business and will continue as key members of the leadership team, according to Tucker’s Farm.
In 2023, Tucker’s Farm launched Wonder, a franchise and multi-site-focused holding vehicle, with committed, long-term equity capital. Wonder is dedicated to partnering with and acquiring emerging and mid-size brands with the goal of growing them over the long term. Wonder’s priority is to be a great partner to sellers and a responsible steward for world-class brands and related assets, it said.
Adam Lewin, the chief executive of Wonder, said the company was thrilled to invest in Soccer 5 and partner with the Georgeson family and their team to bring small-sided football to more communities across the United States.
He said interest in the sport continues to grow in the US and, with the 2026 World Cup in North America, the popularity is expected to accelerate.
He stated: “What drew us to Soccer 5 was not only the strength of its business model but also the enthusiasm of its players and passion for community.
“From children kicking their first ball to adults playing under the lights after work, Soccer 5’s offerings resonate with a broad group. We’re very excited to work with the Georgesons to grow both the corporate-unit footprint, as well as the franchise system.”
Scott Georgeson, cofounder and president of Soccer 5, stated: “We are delighted to welcome Wonder as our partner for the next phase of Soccer 5's journey. From the very beginning, we saw eye-to-eye on values and vision. Wonder understands what makes our brand special and how important it is to the communities we serve. With Wonder's support, we can move faster to bring Soccer 5 to new markets while staying true to what's gotten us here.”
Alan Georgeson, cofounder and development director of Soccer 5, added: “We’ve spent years perfecting our business model and building a strong pipeline of new sites, and we believe this partnership will best allow us to realise that vision. Wonder’s track record and their investment in people gives us confidence that Soccer 5 will continue to grow in a way that benefits our players, partners and franchisees across the country.”
Soccer 5 provides recreational and competitive play for all ages and skill levels as well as football schools and camps through its academy. The group offers opportunities for those interested in building or operating their own Soccer 5 facility to franchise the brand in markets across the US.
This is the sixth transaction for Tucker’s Farm in recent months, including successfully exiting VIO Medspa by selling its stake in the franchiser of pure-play branded medical spas to Freeman Spogli.
It also closed a Series B funding round for its medical aesthetics holding company subsidiary, with about a $200 million valuation and some $65 million of revenue across 16 aesthetic clinics and 12 brands.
The company used Wonder to acquire Christmas Decor, a 28-year-old brand and franchiser with about $75 million in system sales across some 250 territories. It also bought Pizza Factory, a 48-year-old brand and franchiser with about $94 million in system sales across about 110 restaurants.
Additionally, it purchased the 70-year-old Webster Lock and Hardware Co and capitalised Badlands Security, its tech-enabled access-control holding company.
