Opus launches Bermuda division

Valma Pipi is to head the new Bermuda office of Opus Business Advisory Group, subject to approval of the Department of Immigration (Photograph supplied)

The launch of a new office in Bermuda is at the centre of international expansion by Opus Business Advisory Group, a British-based firm.

The company said the Bermuda office will be focused on restructuring, insolvency and forensic accounting.

Opus stated: “The move comes in response to growing demand for specialist advisory services for mid-market companies in the region and reinforces the firm’s commitment to providing global expertise with a boutique, locally-focused approach.”

The new office will be headed by Valma Pipi, subject to approval of the Department of Immigration.

Ms Pipi is an insolvency practitioner with over 12 years of restructuring, advisory and forensic experience, including a previous role at a leading big four company in Bermuda.

Opus said she brings significant experience and specialist knowledge to a market where such capability is in high demand.

“There is a growing need in Bermuda for insolvency professionals who can offer true specialist advice rather than broader consultancy services,” said Ms Pipi. “We are bringing a fresh, hands-on style to the market, one that is grounded in international standards but deeply attuned to local needs. Clients here are looking for insight, integrity and access to global best practices, which we are proud to deliver with Opus.”

As a qualified insolvency practitioner in the United Kingdom, Ms Pipi will also be able to take on appointments in England and Wales over cross-border cases related to Bermuda assignments.

Opus said that with a strong pipeline of work across insurance, cryptocurrency and forensic investigations, the firm will play a vital role in supporting the region’s thriving business landscape.

Its presence also gives confidence to international clients and local business owners, Opus stated, offering transparent exit planning and structured risk mitigation from the outset.

Tim Dolder, managing partner, said: “This launch marks an exciting new chapter in Opus’ international journey. We’ve always believed in the power of a personal, tailored approach, but with the strength of a broader team behind it.

“Bermuda offers huge opportunities, and under Valma’s expert leadership, we are perfectly positioned to serve both local businesses and international clients operating in this jurisdiction.”

Trev Binyon, managing partner, added: “A key part of the division’s mission is to nurture local talent and invest in long-term capability building within the Bermudian advisory and restructuring profession. By combining boutique service with the infrastructure and scale of a larger advisory firm, Opus aims to set a new standard for restructuring support in the region.”

The new Bermuda office, the company said, reflects Opus’ ongoing growth and ambition as it continues to build out its international capabilities and sector expertise.
