Katryn Smith, a Bermudian, has been appointed as audit partner, joining the partnership at Deloitte Bermuda, effective June 1, 2026.

Ms Smith has played an important role in serving clients across the re/insurance industry, Deloitte said. She brings extensive experience working with both Bermudian and global property-and-casualty and life insurance clients.

The firm added that her technical knowledge spans US GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB standards, and internal controls. Katryn is a member of the audit technical team, is involved with Deloitte’s training facilitation and recruiting activities, utilising her strong interpersonal skills.

Ms Smith is an active board member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Bermuda and has recently been appointed a leader in digital change for the audit practice of the Deloitte Caribbean and Bermuda region.

Commenting on her appointment, Katryn said: “I am honoured to join the partner team and look forward to deepening my relationships with colleagues and clients in this new role.”
