Students invited to pitch for summer work

Students on the lookout for a job next summer can now apply to join the Department of Workforce Development’s 2026 Youth Employment Programmes.

The programme is open to Bermudian students between 16 and 26, promising “meaningful summer employment and career development opportunities”.

Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said: “Every young person deserves a strong start.

“The YEPs are designed to connect Bermudian students with hands-on experience that strengthens their confidence, sharpens their skills and prepares them for the careers of tomorrow.”

Mr Hayward said the programmes offer immersion in real workplaces with real expectations.

He added: “This is more than a summer job.

“It is a stepping stone towards a stronger, more resilient career pathway and your future as part of Bermuda’s workforce.”

The deadline for applications is December 31, with full guidance notes available online at dwd.bm/youth-employment-strategy.
