Government careers fair ‘met objective’
Interest in Public Service jobs has increased following a career fair and expo, the Government has said.
Students, jobseekers and career changers attended the Career Fair and Expo at Pier 6 last month.
The one-day event brought together 11 ministries and the uniformed services, among others.
A Bermuda Government spokeswoman said last week: “The career fair met its objective of creating awareness about careers in the Public Service.
“Public Service leadership was pleased with the level of engagement both in person and online.
“On the day of the career fair, dedicated social media promotion across government platforms generated 56,917 impressions, 36,486 accounts reached, 864 reactions and likes, 218 shares and 398 link clicks to the career fair website, demonstrating strong public interest and engagement.”
The spokeswoman added: “The Government has seen an increase in general enquiries about careers in the Public Service.
“For example, visits to the Government's careers page increased significantly following the launch of the new careers platform.
“Between January and April 2026, the careers page received 7,262 total visits and 6,077 unique visitors.
“Between May and June 2026, visits increased to 15,654 total visits and 12,352 unique visitors.
“Daily average visits also increased from 60.5 per day to 256.6 per day.”
Another event of its kind was not ruled out.
The Government said it would “continue to expand its engagement and outreach efforts through a variety of initiatives designed to raise awareness about careers in the Public Service”.
