March 21, 2011Dear Sir,“Pleasantville Lane.” This gives one the impression of an area that is serene quaint and as the name states, “pleasant”…Times have changed. In Police spokesman Dwayne Caines ‘ statement in today’s newspaper, he reported a stabbing in the Scotts Hill area of Sandys, Mr. Caines refused to give the names of the victim or his attacker nor the attackers description, though he had supposedly stated, (in quoting the RG), ” We are advising the public that caution should be exercised if coming into contact with the individual.”Am I missing something here? First, he’d refused to give a description of the “perp”, yet tells everyone, “caution should be exercised.” Caution can be taken if only you knew who it is you should heed.Thank goodness in this Royal Gazette report a few paragraphs earlier took upon themselves to tell the public who the “perp” is, as well as who the victim had been.RAYMOND RAYSt. George’s
