The biggest punishment

April 15, 2011Dear Sir,Be careful what you wish for. I think the biggest punishment Paula Cox will experience will be her adherence to Ewart Brown, whereby she saw The People’s Purse haemorrhaging, and did not go into crisis mode and arrest the bleeding.I think she coveted The Premiership so much that she signed cheques like a drunken sailor but now she has the prize, she has turned around and done a 180, and asks us all to sacrifice. Excuse me! Let us for one moment compare our sacrifices. We love Bermuda and we want Bermuda to become well again, but the misery and the hardship is palpable in the community, and whilst Madam Cox will not lose her job, or have her house foreclosed upon, or have a landlord wanting to evict her because she is late with the rent, and finally I am sure will be able to pay ALL her bills for medications and insurance, and household expenses, but … comes the famous but …one cannot help but feel resentful.I think she has put the PLP on the altar, and in doing so, she has lost the respect of many of her people and many of the PLP adherents, but much more seriously, she lost her integrity, professionalism, and her duty.DIANA WILLIAMSPembroke
