Honesty on display
April 25, 2011Dear Sir,This is a quick note to let you know that my purse (which I stupidly left on the hill on the Saturday of the Ag Show) was actually found and turned in to the Police Mobile Unit by two students from Warwick Academy. The day you kindly published my letter, I received a call in the evening from a teacher at the school who told me that during that week in assembly, students were encouraged to make honesty and integrity a part of their daily lives. The boys who found the purse didn’t even tell their parents about their good deed until later. They each received a “Certificate of Honesty”, awarded during assembly the day the letter was published. I asked if I could give them a monetary reward, as I was so very grateful for the return of the purse, but the teacher said “No”, the boys were very pleased with their certificates and she felt that was sufficient reward for their honesty and a good example for the students at Warwick Academy.I should have written sooner and asked you to publish this Chapter Two of my first letter. Many people read the letter and it would be nice for them to know this successful outcome. Perhaps if you have space you could publish this.HARRIET RICHOLDWarwick
