May 26, 2011Dear Sir,Not too long ago, I was a patient on Cooper Ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. At times I have heard on the talk shows, negative remarks about how the foreign nurses treat some of the patients. But this is how I see it. Most of the time Cooper’s Ward is full. It is a surgical ward, where everybody is hurting. They just don’t have enough nurses, period. Plus my husband was visiting me one day, in walks Mr Eugene (Jinks) Darrell, a patient begging for smokes and money. The nurses cannot be everywhere at the same time. So if you feel they have an attitude, yes, they are human, how do you feel when you are not happy.I can honestly say, I was very sick at a time during my stay, but thanks be to God for the guidance He gave the doctors and nurses, I got well enough to go home. Nurses, hang in there. It won’t be long, before you will have a smile on your faces again! I believe help is on the way. I came home with a smile on my face.
