Parade change didn't work

Dear Sir,Please allow me to express my opinion on the changing of the route of the parade. It was proven by many parade participants that the change was unsuccessful. To have Bermuda’s dignitaries and leaders in a built viewing stage cramped up like sardines facing the sun on Cedar Avenue it was a complete insult to have these folks view the parade when Bermuda has a national viewing stand, the Flagpole with all the facilities and room there. Also Front Street is a wider street were the viewers can see the beauty of the performances. To Mr Glenn Blakeney MP and his inexperienced committee, Mrs Tannock and Heather Walker Trott have no experience or successful results of running a parade. To have the parade finish at the City Hall car park was nothing but an unorganised finishing event. With the music trucks going one way at City Hall and the music trucks dancers entering City Hall with no music. Another thing it was inconsiderate of Mr Glenn Blakeney to ignore that these children are hungry, thirsty and tired and would normally have refreshments and lay off and relax on the grass at Bernard Park. After all, May is Heritage Month and Bernard Park is a part of our heritage, it facilitated the finishing of the parade going back to the day when the Bermuda Day Parade was called Floral Pageant.I hope that next year, if Mr Blakeney is still Culture Minister, it will return to the normal route of the Bermuda Day Parade starting along Bermudiana Road and Pitts Bay along with performers waiting to begin the parade and relaxing at Barnes Park with facilities there. I may end by stating that Culture Affairs should appoint experienced parade people to sit on the organising committee and you yourself Minister Glenn Blakeney. The parade participants make the parade not you and your incompetent decisions.TRULY A PARADE PARTICIPANT
