July 17, 2011Dear Sir,How many times do we hear a PLP politician or party member say “we listened” every time they have to back track on poorly worded or knee-jerk legislation that even lawyers can’t understand? How often do our PLP legislators in the House avoid meaningful consultation with those who actually understand the subject matter? How often have our PLP Members of Parliament forced through legislation that has shown to have significantly damaging consequences for Bermuda’s well-being? When the PLP Government resorts to “we listened” what they actually mean is “Yes, we messed up again, but we have the power!”I look forward to a Government that thinks about the consequences of Legislation and Ministerial Orders before opening their mouths with ill-considered proposals that have little value beyond trying to win votes for the party.A THINKERPembroke
