It’s ‘Gobbledy Goop’
July 23, 2011
Dear Sir,
There's a new language circulating in Bermuda now. It's called “Gobbledy Goop”.
It was created way back in Kindergarten days, when some smart kids needed a quick safe retreat like “Not me, Teacher!”
The intent was to throw a spanner in the works, causing doubt and confusion, and delays for investigative purposes, and time being money, was often discarded and placed firmly under the mat!
We all recognise this language, we read it daily in our Royal Gazette, page after page.
This morning I read on my front page and I quote our Premier Paula Cox saying, “It won't happen again” but Madame — why did it happen at all?
The horse has bolted out of the barn, or was the barn door left open? Not only did the horse leave the barn, but so did the People's Purse!
Now, let us hope that we will have some full explanations with responsibility taken, in some good old fashioned Oxford English.
Why? How? When? and dare I say, Who?
