October 4, 2011Dear Sir,So first the Premier announces that the import duty at the airport will be increased as of October 1st. Then we hear this “On the customs duty changes at the airport, given the time required to make system changes, including the changes to bank kiosks at the airport that are used for payment of customs duty, the recently announced changes to the customs duty on goods accompanying residents when they return from overseas trips will have effect from November 4, 2011.”Now we are informed that the “Retail” Classification is to be reviewed ... Is it just me or shouldn't this have been done before announcing that the duty rate will change on October 1st? Talk about a knee-jerk reaction and band-aid fix ... Honestly, it just seems to get worse everyday. It is quite obvious that PLP have no plan!
