Desperate measures

November 7, 2011

Dear Sir,

The Throne Speech contains reference to the Government’s intention to setting up a Muslim Financial Centre in Bermuda and to encourage financial support from such sources in addition to the Government having talks with Emirates Airlines to establish flights to and from places such as Dubai.

Is this really what the people of Bermuda want? Has the Island become so desparate for international business and Tourism? Has the Premier lost it altogether?

One has only to imagine the consequences of such developments within this Society and the resulting departure of Bermudians from Bermuda and not just to attend the Soccer World Cup when it is held in Qatar!

The Legislature will need to think this through very carefully and let their minds wander and imagine the consequences. In the meantime folks, start packing!
