November 22, 2011Dear Sir,Regarding your article in today’s Royal Gazette, “HMS Malabar critical of property’s neglect”, clearly shows that Government and Wedco have no regard for Bermuda’s historical sites and should be ashamed of their disgraceful neglect. In the past Bermuda was a beautiful, well groomed, sophisticated and proud island, but in the past decade, it has deteriorated to the point that it now reminds me of a woman of bygone years (circa the 1950s) whose shoes are run-down at the heels, her stockings are sagging, her slip and bra strap are showing, her hair is uncombed, her eyes are bloodshot and she has a cigarette dangling out the side of her mouth. This is certainly not a pretty picture and to top it off, Bermuda has not only been neglected — it has also been financially and politically raped and now has the scent of a two-bit street walker.PAT FERGUSONWarwi
