Punish the Norway killerDecember 5, 2011Dear Sir,In regards to your article published Wednesday, November 30, 2011, ‘Norway killer found insane, unfit for prison’, I believe Anders Behring Breivik is insane but his conviction is inadequate. For the crimes that he committed, he should definitely go to jail for the rest of his life. Someone who has murdered a person should automatically go to jail for 25 years to life. Looking at the crimes he committed, he killed 77 people and admitted to it. Since he confessed to his actions, the courts should give him life in prison without any hesitation. If it was one of your family members who were killed in this massacre, wouldn’t you want him to go to jail for the rest of his life?I don’t think that he is unfit for jail at all. His attacks were so carefully planned out that there is no way he could have paranoid schizophrenia. Someone who has this mental illness would not be able to plot and carry out these attacks on their own. He couldn’t have had this illness while he committed these attacks which show that he was aware of what he was doing. If Breivik knew what he was doing and planned it out, he should go to jail for what he did. The crimes themselves show that Breivik is not completely insane.
