Proud of male students

Kudos to our young menDecember 9, 2011Dear Sir,Once again I have goose bumps of joy to see that there are successful, achieving, athletically and artistically young men in The Royal Gazette newspaper on Thursday, December 8, 2011 who have chosen not to wear the label that is erroneously placed on our teenage males. Andrew Fleming, congratulations for being the valedictorian and achieving the highest GPA in the school’s history and scoring a 4 in the AP English exam which exempted you from taking freshman English. Well done, and Bermuda is looking forward to your return with your highest degrees in Economics.Israel Sanchez, congratulations to you also for achieving a GPA of 3.96 which placed you as the salutatorian. Bermuda is also looking for your return with your highest degrees in Mathematics and Engineering. Well done Bruce Degrilla who earned a silver medal for long jump in the Carifta Games 2011. The other seven young male athletes who also qualified but are not named, congratulations to you all for qualifying. The CedarBridge under 16 male soccer team whom are honour students or students of academic merit, and playing in Dallas Cup finals. Keep up the good job.Khaivon Castro, and Naasson Swan who took the stage as lead actors in the Bermuda Shakespeare Festival. Maybe one day Bermuda will see you as popular actors on television or the movies. The CedarBridge Academy String Ensemble who performed at the Waterslide Stage at Downtown Disney. Continue to learn music. Khalid Muhammad, a student artist. Keep the brushes flowing. Congratulations to you all, your families and to your school The CedarBridge Academy whom I’m sure are very proud of you as well and looking for high expectations from you all. I’m looking daily in The Royal Gazette for more positive input and viewings on our male teenagers.PATRICIA LEEParaeducatorSandys
