January 5, 2012Dear Sir,Opening up yesterday’s and today’s Royal Gazette, I observed the Auditor General’s rebuttal of false accusations that were made against her. We have seen this dance before, during Dr Brown’s tenure, of people being unfairly accused of heinous acts. Not this time! There has come upon the scene, a conductor, an Auditor General, by the name of Heather Matthews, who is a fierce advocate, dedicated to her assignment, the truth, integrity and transparency. This gives us hope, that the light at the end of the tunnel can be a reality, if we have people like Heather Matthews to stand up with her courage and persistence to pursue the injustices we have all endured these past years, our hopes are not in vain. I am sure I am joined by decent thinking people all over this lovely little island, in commending you Mrs Matthews, and to wish you every success in 2012.
