Disappointed with response

Driving home a pointJanuary 10, 2012Dear Sir,Re: Cable Vision Trucks gone wildOn Wednesday, January 4, whilst on my home, I was nearing the sharp corner up from the Riding School in Warwick when a large bucket CableVision truck came around the corner so fast that it seemed like I was passing someone on a racetrack. He was going so fast I had to brake and pull to the side of the road. Again on Friday, January 6, again on my way home, as I was approaching Hayward’s Supermarket parking lot I noticed a CableVision van leaving the parking lot. It drew my attention because this driver appeared to be adamant that come hell or high water, he was going to come out of the parking lot whether anyone was willing to give way or not. After a few minutes I look up into my rear view mirror and noticed that he had indeed been successful and was right up behind me, so close that it appeared that I was towing him along the stretch of road as we neared the Spice Valley School. It was during a second look that I observed that he was drinking out of a can that could be clearly seen to be a Red Bull drink, I guess that was why he was driving at such an erratic and fast pace, as if he had heard that he had won the lottery and was on the way home to collect that ticket for proof.I immediately asked the other person in the car with me to call the CableVision number and ask for a manager explaining what it was we were calling about, as this was a serious complaint. The first call was answered by a young lady, who after several inquiries as to whom in a manager’s position was available to talk with regarding this matter, we eventually ended up with a voice mail. On the third attempt a gentleman answered, again we were connected to a voice mail. Mr Editor, after several attempts and a voice mail prompt “please leave a message” it appeared that no one wanted to be bothered or to get anyone in trouble. We explained what was going on, and we felt that it was urgent, because any normal person knows full well that you should not be driving a company vehicle drinking Red Bull, or speeding like you are driving a sports car.Come on people, it is time you all stopped trying to defend one another when a member of the public calls in with a complaint. These calls were made well before closing time, and there obviously had to be someone in at that time in a management position that could have dealt with this as it was happening. Next time it could be a matter of life and limb. I have decided to write to this newspaper as it would surely get someone’s attention rather than call again as phone numbers are often times recorded on the screen, thus may be risking loss of service since I reported one of their buddies. A copy of this letter has been forwarded to CableVision for action.ANGRY CABLE –SUBSCRIBERDevonshire
