Where is the justice?
Where is the justice?January 16, 2012Dear Sir,I have always found it hard to understand “man’s inhumanity to man” Is it that they don’t identify, like “There for The Grace of God go I“. Or is it that they are so locked and dedicated into ruining this lovely little island? What seems more logical to me is that a group of intelligent (not officially established as I do not know this group of Ministers personally) got together on a board and decided to demand that a group of people, cleaners and pot washers “had to cease and desist” working as of January 20, and settle their affairs on the Island within the following three weeks! These very Ministers, or any of us for that matter, could not manage this feat within that short period of time, apart from the stress, cruel and disruptive demands on people’s lives. And for what? Vote catching, and yet they keep shooting themselves in the foot. When this Government finds that they have made one more mistake and that the decisions made either would not work or would be uncomfortable for the big established companies here, they have to do a 180, reverse that order and I would think put the civil servants once again into a spin. There must be a hive of utter confusion in the corridors and behind closed doors of this Government, the doors not being transparent. One department has no idea what the other department is doing! Sound familiar? This Government is making Bermuda the laughing stock [if it was not so tragic] of Bermudians, if not the world. The sooner we right this ship the better, we do not have time. It must be now.So let us hope that the honourable profession of a pot washer and a cleaner is redeemed, and a reversible compromise could be reached with an element of compassion and understanding as soon as possible.DIANA WILLIAMSPembroke
