January 27, 2012Dear Sir,Since the Auditor General reports directly to the Governor, then obviously he knows what is going on and he has known for some time.I wrote to the Governor about two years ago stating my concerns about the Brown administration and calling for a Royal Commission of Inquiry. The Governor’s reply to me then was that at the moment there was no need for an inquiry as there were two investigations going on. Well, I beg to differ.So here we are today with allegations from the Auditor General that the former Premier and Minister Derrick Burgess misused public funds for their own personal legal expenses and not only that, she also states there are other irregularities that need looking into which means this is just the tip of the iceberg and Bermuda like the Titanic has had her side ripped open and is starting to sink. Let’s just hope we have enough lifeboats on board to save the people, even those with their heads stuck in the sands of denial who believe this is not happening.What the people of Bermuda want are answers to our many unanswered questions as to where has our money gone.So my question is: “Why hasn’t the Governor done something about this situation that has been ongoing since the BHC scandal and just kept getting progressively worse, especially under the leadership of Ewart Brown and with Paula Cox as Finance Minister. Has the Governor neglected his duties and dropped the ball in this situation by not asking for a Royal Commission of Inquiry? I say yes!Too much has been covered up in the PLP administration and again I say: “Keep on digging Ms Auditor General, keep digging until you dig all of those nasty little worms up.”PAT FERGUSONWarwick
