So much for transparency
January 30, 2012Dear Sir,OBA leader Craig Cannonier was right to question why the Premier didn’t let the public know about the discrepancies within the BLDC, especially when she knew about it a year ago. It just goes to show this was going to be another cover up by the PLP Government and to think, all the while she is spouting to the public about the wonders of “transparency and good governance!” Talk about transparency? Yes, they are transparent because you can see right through their shenanigans. If there was no wrongdoing, why would the Premier disband the BLDC board and ask for the resignations of Edward Saunders and Leroy Bean who were paid $160,000-plus of hard earned taxpayer money? And to top it off, they were asked to resign by Premier Cox, but Deputy Premier Derrick Burgess disagreed and “took absolutely no action” to remove the pair from their posts. What a blatant slap in the face that was by Mr Burgess to the Premier. Then I have to ask, where is her credibility, leadership and strength to let him get away with this disgraceful disrespect for her as Premier and the office of the Premier? He needs to be fired as he has shown that he has no credibility or integrity and we have seen too much of this type of character in Government. It is way past time to vote this Government out of office as Bermuda cannot afford them. They have squandered our money misappropriated our money misused our money completely been unaccountable for our money lied to us about our money and oh heavens, purchased unmentionables at Victoria’s Secret with our mone, and if that’s not good enough for you to take action, I don’t know what is.Now I want to hear the Premier’s response to OBA leader Craig Cannonier’s queries and statements. I watched Derrick Burgess on the TV news waffle his way through his answers which was pathetic to say the least. When are they going to learn that you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time?PAT FERGUSONWarwick
