Great Bermudian service

An excellent experienceThis was sent to American Airlines manager Jeffrey Wainwright and copied to The Royal GazetteFebruary 25, 2012Dear Mr Wainwright,I am writing to commend American Airlines employee Divon Rogers for going beyond the call of duty to ensure that I had an excellent experience with American Airlines. On January 12, my wife and I were travelling from Bermuda to Miami. At security, I realised that I had left my computer and important documents in the car that brought me to the airport. I made contact to have the items brought to me, although I wasn’t sure if they would reach me before the plane was due to leave. After going through security and on to the departure lounge, I mentioned my predicament to Mr Rogers who was at the AA counter. He immediately took charge of the situation, assuring me that he would do his best to have the bag with the items brought to me. He asked me to call to ascertain the expected arrival time of the taxi. This I did. He then called a fellow worker at the check-in counter and asked the person to bring the bag through security to him once it arrived. As time was getting close for departure, he asked my wife and I to board the aircraft, again assuring us that he would take care of the situation. It was a pleasure to see him come down the aisle to personally deliver my bag. What a wonderful experience!Today, when there is so much negativity surrounding young men in Bermuda, Divon stands out. He, in my view, represents the majority about which we hear so little publicly.CHARLES H JEFFERSDevonshire
