Police did good job

February 15, 2012

Dear Sir,

This was sent to Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva and copied to The Royal Gazette.

Dear Commissioner DeSilva,

I wanted to write to commend several of your officers for their kindness and professionalism during the recent tragedy around my travelling companion, Michael Lancelotta, who was killed in a traffic accident on February 5, 2012.

I wanted to thank and commend Sgt Kimberly Cowper for her work during the week, first with me, as I identified Michael's body, and then with Michael's brother, who arrived on the Island several days later. She was patient and understanding and spent a great deal with us to help us through this.

I also wanted to commend Sgt Lyndon Raynor, who took the reports of the accident, as well as the officer who initially brought me the sad news just after the accident for his courtesies (I unfortunately did not get his name).

While nothing can bring Michael back, your staff's professional demeanors and kind and patient work help us through this horrible time. They are all clearly a credit to the Bermuda police.
