Expand cinder block use

April 1, 2012Dear Sir,If we were to build “cofferdams” of sheet piling and tied together in stages, as was used when the No 8 Dock in Hamilton was built, you could use the 800lb cinder blocks from our Tynes Bay Incinerator plant to help keep these sheet pilings in place. This way you could continue dumping into these cofferdams and make landfill more stable instead of being undermined by any strong gale or hurricane force winds that come out of our South or Southeast directions, it would keep any toxic nutrients from seeping into Castle Harbour as we hear it has happened in the past. Additionally, with all this global warming and our seas continuously rising, I would suggest that our cinder blocks from our Tynes Bay Incinerator be placed all around our airport areas so as to build up the height of our airport. The way that I see these cinder blocks being used today, they are just dumped “willy-nilly” at our airport dump area.PETER BROMBY SRPaget
