August 24, 2012Dear Sir,As I was driving home along Trinity Church Road today (around 12pm), I observed a young lady holding a large bag of garbage as she rode her bike. The regular Friday trash collection had already been completed, and I wasn’t sure what she was doing. I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw her throw the bag onto the road and continue on her way. The bag broke open spilling trash along the roadside, not in a designated trash collection area. Needless to say I was thoroughly disgusted!I turned around in an attempt to get her to acknowledge and clean up the mess she had left, but she sped off. I decided to follow her and get her plate number, and expose her through this media for the litterbug she is!I also took a photo of the distasteful image that will remain in the street until she picks up her mess or the people whose property is next to that filth do it for her.I hope she realises that littering is also against the law, punishable with a hefty fine. If she misses the trash collection time, hold onto her garbage until the following collection day or take it to the dump.
