Bermuda’s collapsing infrastructure
October 13, 2012Dear Sir,Earlier today I had to drive to Tynes Bay from Warwick, then on to Gorhams in town along Middle/North Shore. As I have not done this drive for some eight months or more, I was shocked to see the very poor condition of the road and roadside, and how derelict the general area I was driving through looked.I suddenly thought about Mr Burchall’s recent comments on the state of Bermuda’s economy, and could not but help think yes! He is right! Millions of dollars are leaving our shores weekly, if not daily, to service Bermuda’s debt and the interest payments on the huge bill that has been racked up by the PLP government. That is money that should be staying here and being used for roads, roadsides, bus maintenance, ferry maintenance and the infrastructure of Bermuda, for our children and their future such as the Sunshine League, Mirrors, Family and welfare services, all important Education, Crime, and the list goes on and on.What an absolute disaster this Government has been, not only for Bermuda today, but for the future generations coming along behind us, for their lifetime and even more years after that!MAGGIEWarwick
