Worshipping the sun
October 18, 2012Dear Sir,Respond to “Halloween’s Pagan Past”, October 14, 2012What is wrong with worshipping the Sun?After many years of studying the Bible I came to a choice in my life. On one hand you have an invisible God who has a list of ten things you should not do. And if you do any of these ten things he has a special place filled with smoke, fire, torture, anguish, screaming etc where he will send you forever and ever until the end of times, yet he still loves you. He loves you but needs money. Here is a God that is all perfect, powerful, all knowing, all wise yet he cannot handle money! He takes billions of dollars, pays no taxes but still needs a little more. So overnight I became a Sun worshipper, well not overnight, I had to wait until the following day so I could see it.Unlike other gods, this one I can literally see. It gives me everything I need. Heat, life, food, flowers, reflections on the lake, an occasional skin cancer, but no crucifixions, not setting people on fire because it does not agree with us. Sun worship is very simple, no mystery, no miracles, no pageantry and no special building where people meet once a week on a Sunday to compare clothes. Never treats me unworthy, or thinks I am a bad person. Treats me just fine. So I worship the sun.So once again I ask what is wrong with worshipping the sun not just on October 31 but every day?IFPaget
