PLP bereft of ideas
November 20, 2012Dear Sir,I was amused to hear Government Ministers invoking scare tactics and warning the electorate that the One Bermuda Alliance would destroy all the good things they currently enjoy under the leadership of the Progressive Labour Party if they voted in the upstart OBA at the general election. Apart from finding it difficult to find much that is ‘good’ at present, like a job, it reminded me of the United Bermuda Party in the lead up to the 1998 general election. The UBP prophesied ruin and the loss of all that was good. That didn’t start to happen until Dr Brown gained power for the new PLP in 2007. Had the old PLP retained power I don’t believe we would be in the social and economic mess we currently find ourselves in. Unfortunately, the old PLP has gone and the new PLP is bereft of ideas on how to get us out of the disaster they created. Hopefully the new PLP’s scare mongering will be as successful as the 1998 UBP’s attempt and instead of another five years of standing strong and doing nothing but build our debt and lose more jobs, we can look forward to change and the hope that Bermuda so desperately needs.FOR CHANGEPembroke
