Head shaking hypocrisy

Heritage Wharf

March 28, 2013Dear Sir,It would be wise for the Progressive Labour Party to to stop spinning their nonsense, sit down, shut their mouths and learn a few lessons. They are complaining about the One Bermuda Alliance’s 100 days as Government and boldly stating the new Government has failed. Where do these people get their unmitigated gall to utter such hypocritical garbage? Not only did the PLP fail their 100 days, they failed 14 years in serving this country and what little good they did do for the country pales against the dismal economic state they left the country in. Does Marc Bean think for one moment that any normal, fair minded, level thinking person goes along with what he says? If he does, then he is delusional. If you take the former Government’s shopping list of failures; that list would reach from one end of Front Street to the other. The PLP have lost the faith and trust of the majority of the voters and the polls told that tale on December 17, 2012 and 100 days later, they are still having fallout over their loss. They have lost their “fix” and are having withdrawal symptoms. Power and inflated egos can be an awfully addictive drug. Your article in today’s Royal Gazette, ‘Too many ‘broken promises’ PLP attacks OBA at 100 days’ — Premier Craig Cannonier was right to dismiss the PLP’s salvo as “schoolyard fighting tactics” and what I find very amusing, is the fact that Marc Bean speaking on OBA’s broken promises, goes on to ask “if the OBA was naive in making these promises or attempted to mislead us”.Now Mr acting Editor, how many times did the PLP mislead its own people, not to mention the people of this Island? He then has the nerve to say, “Let us not forget, that our word is our honour”. For him to mention that highly regarded word honour in the context that he did is almost sacrilegious. On another note, we have Derrick Burgess spouting off about Heritage Wharf. Where do these people come from with their inane thinking? Calling the Governing party dishonourable? One can only shake their head at such hypocrisy. I could continue but as I do not want to make this too lengthy, I will end here.PAT FERGUSON
