Bottle messages not such a good idea

Dear Sir

I see another article in today's Royal Gazette about a message in a bottle which was sent from Bermuda.

Over the years these stories are published but there is never a mention that throwing a bottle into the ocean is littering not to mention the dangers to people and to marine life from broken glass or plastic bottles. Sometimes photographs of the offenders are shown.

I also wonder why Keep Bermuda Beautiful keep quiet on this issue.

Bermuda is a beautiful island and we should all endeavour to keep it this way. It would be nice if our local newspaper would discourage littering of any sort even if the source of it makes for good reading.
