No more free rides

Dear Sir,
I agree that bus drivers deserve some sort of protection from ‘thugs’ at night. Those hooded individuals, who assaulted those people, could’ve been carrying weapons so, a metal detector ought to be installed on the buses.
Might seem extreme but, as one bus driver stated, ‘what’s stopping these guys at night, from having a knife to my neck?’ Bus drivers ought to be allowed to protect themselves, especially as some are women.
Since new buses will be introduced, students getting on the bus free needs to be eliminated as, what one bus driver stressed. I agree with that as well. I had to pay student bus fare when I was young so, why not today’s children?
Some act ignorant as it is, around the bus terminal/on buses so, they ought to have to pay as well.
If students have to show student passes whether they’re in school uniform or not, so be it. Better than them hopping off one bus and getting on another without ever having to pay. With new buses, should be new rules and PTB should be changing that students getting on free, to students having to show a pass, whether it’s a student ID pass, or similar.
