Where the wealthy ones are

March 10, 2014

Dear Sir,

My letter of last week identified the middle and low income families as shouldering the majority of austerity measures/job losses. To be fair and just, I proposed increasing taxes on high earners and wealthy land owners. These comments have received more support than any letter or article that I have ever written. The letter was also read out in the House of Assembly by MP Zane DeSilva. Perhaps I could suggest to the One Bermuda Alliance and his Progressive Labour Party that they save time and money in polls to see if this is acceptable by the voters and actually enact some of those tax suggestions. Bermudians from every walk of life, age and colour have approached me saying this is the right thing to do. The only persons I have not heard supporting these measures were reported to me by one of my teenagers who follows The Royal Gazette blog (as I don’t). So I guess the majority of persons who write anonymously on The Royal Gazette blog could perhaps be the high earners and wealthy land owners.
