Let’s be stricter with these boats

May 18, 2014

Dear Sir,

Can you please tell me why loud, way too fast, turtle killing ‘cigarette boats’ are allowed to zoom up and down Hamilton Harbour? Is nobody else bothered by the constant supersonic noise (must be nice for the visitors staying in the new Hamilton Princess)? Is this not a safety hazard as well in a congested space?

If there is a law in place condemning loud bikes, shouldn’t the same law apply to boats? Or at least a special zone allocated to the use of cigarette boats? It would be nice to be as strict with these cigarettes as the surgeon general is with the other ones!
