It has come to my attention that Kelly Zuill will no longer be anchoring the morning gospel show on FM105 at 6am. Suffice to say, I am now upset, as I have listened to Mr Zuill for the past 45-plus years. I have woken to Kelly’s powerful voice and his playing good old-fashioned gospel music, mixed in with current favourites.

I have been told that July 6, 2016 will mark the 53rd anniversary of gospel music on radio at 6am. While I realise everything has a season, I am asking the powers that be to rethink this move. Please leave the Gospel Train programme on FM105 at 6am.

There are many seniors, sick and shut in, Christian families and lovers of gospel music who rely on Kelly to wake them up the right way — the gospel way.

I understand that the BBC wants to place David Lopes on FM105 to take the 6am slot from Mr Zuill, and I feel that this is because Mr Lopes does not fit into the new format of FM89, now Ocean 89.

I truly hope you will rethink your strategy and keep Mr Zuill on FM105, with him beginning his radio shift at 6.00 on weekday mornings.
