Antiquated system of processing passengers

Turgid bureaucracy: processing of tired passengers at the airport needs to be improved

Dear Sir,

A couple of days ago, I arrived back at the Bermuda airport on the late American flight from New York.

The processing of returning residents in the incoming immigration line was painfully slow, taking 45 minutes before my wife and I even reached the immigration desk.

In this day of machine-readable passports, the processing of tired passengers held hostage by a turgid bureaucracy is surely unwarranted and very Third World.

It is time that the Government overhauled this antiquated arrangement, which not only greets returning Bermudians, but also our valued visitors.
