Dear Sir,

It has been more than seven months, but today (Monday, November 2, 2020) when I turned on my radio to Inspire 105FM, I finally heard David Lopes’s voice.

He has been absent too long in my opinion and I’m sure there are many more radio listeners on the island who, like me, have very much missed his morning show for much of this year.

David brings a wonderful sense of community and Bermudian spirit on his show each morning that allows Bermuda to get up and moving each day. There really is no one else like him in the land of Bermuda radio.

Each morning you tune in, one gets to listen to great music of all genres. While he is an expert with country music, David also plays music for all listeners — from rock ’n’ roll, reggae, calypso, folk, contemporary, etc. He also lets his audience know what’s going on in the island — from traffic issues, weather posting, community calendar stuff and government announcements such as whether the ferries and buses are running.

He also has the occasional guests on his show who provide specialised insight on various subjects local to Bermuda. He is the Bermuda public’s go-to person each morning and I hope I speak for a lot of other listeners in saying thank you to Bermuda Broadcasting for getting David back on the air.

And about time, too!

I will be tuned in tomorrow and every Monday to Friday to David’s show. Thanks, David, for your dedication to your profession. I think you should syndicate your show — the world would love you just as much as we Bermudians do.

Your show is the greatest wake-up morning radio show ever. No one comes close, in my opinion.
