Thanks for sharing the Christmas spirit
Dear Sir,
Please once again allow us a space in your newspaper on behalf of the Lions Clubs of Bermuda and the MarketPlace stores.
Thank you to the following merchants for their continuing support of this project. Wakefern Food Corp; BGA; Butterfield & Vallis; Lionel Raynor; Vision (Bermuda); Lions Debbie and Dudley Cottingham; Seth Stutzman, president of the MarketPlace stores; Latrica Simmons; Faith Gilkes; and Joseph Cheeseman for their unwavering support in doing all the collection of goods, from the MarketPlace stores and schools.
Thank to the Bermuda Government Schools – six pre-schools, three primary, two middle and Bermuda High School for Girls, for their generous support over the past 37 years, that we have been doing this very important project.
Thanks to those who helped to deliver the hampers for some of our seniors who were unable to collect.
This year we were able to supply 832 hampers.
On behalf of the volunteers, Ethel Liverpool, Yulanda Woolridge, Sandi R. Williams and myself, I am personally taking this opportunity to send kudos to these three ladies who wanted to do some volunteer work and they were there from 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday for three weeks.
As this is my 20th anniversary on chairing such a worthwhile project, I have really enjoyed seeing the smiles and gratitude extended to me from our communities when they say, “thank you”.
As our Island community still finds it very difficult in purchasing food, my prayer is that we continue to look out for one another and give a helping hand when you can because remember “God loves a cheerful giver”.
God bless all of you who gave and those that were on the receiving end.
Have a happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous new year.
