I understand the Government has an appreciable amount of money outstanding from unpaid taxes and fines.

Maybe the Government should take a leaf out of the US legislative book. I see the Feds are going to use Passport Denial Programme 101: “Any parent who has been neglecting their child support payments with a balance of $2,500 or more can have their federal travel documents revoked by the United States Government under the Act.

“Child support agencies submit information on parents who meet the criteria for passport denial.”

So, drivers who do not pay their fines in a timely manner, land taxes that are not paid, employers who do not pay employees’ social security or health insurance could expect to have their passports revoked until such time as the payments have been made.

A simple piece of legislation that can go to reducing the national debt.
