Strong penalties needed for speeding
Dear Sir,
Politicians and the Road Safety Council all plead for road users to slow down and are quick to pass on their condolences to the families who have suffered a loss.
Now they are bringing in speed cameras – what a wonderful innovation! They may catch a few speedsters who will be fined $100 or so (a slap on the wrist). It will be another 25 years before fines of any consequence will be imposed.
Your readers will be commenting on the fact I sound like a broken record and they will be quite right. I have been commenting on this problem for the past 26 years but unfortunately such comments have fallen on deaf ears.
I have emailed both Progressive Labour Party and One Bermuda Alliance representatives and still wait for the courtesy of a reply. Hope springs eternal!
