No results: A patient is still waiting for her blood test results

Dear Sir,

Last month I had a blood test at the hospital at my doctor's request. It was a follow-up to a change in prescription strength.

Two weeks later, I had not received any results. I phoned my doctor's office, explained that I was still waiting for a result and asked if I could assume that “no news is good news”.

She asked if I wanted to speak with the doctor and told me she could book a phone call. I asked if there would be any charge for the call. After giving her the name of my insurer she said it would cost $60. Forget the phone call!

Healthcare is not about health — it’s about money!
