Sisters of Percussion to take the stage at East End
Drums are to resound tonight in St George’s as students of Professor Eddie Ming showcase their skills at a fundraising event.
Mr Ming invited the community to the Rhythm Lab at 6 Old Military Road for a vegan night and percussion showcase.
The night’s entertainment will feature the group Sisters of Percussion, along with the drum school’s longstanding ensemble Mañana.
Mr Ming, who is a chef as well as a percussionist and teacher, said the Bermuda community was invited to enjoy “a vibrant evening of rhythm creativity and healthy plant-based cuisine” at the centre.
He added: “Join us for an unforgettable night celebrating rhythm, community and healthy living.”
The evening will feature live performances by the Rhythm Lab’s Sisters of Percussion — an ensemble created to “complement and uplift one another through rhythm”.
Mr Ming added: “It’s all about feeling, texture and spirit. The Sisters of Percussion were born to do this.”
The night will also showcase Drum School students from age 10 to 80 in the group Mañana.
A spokeswoman for the lab said Mr Ming had “dedicated a lifetime to mastering and teaching the art of drumming, generously giving his time, expertise and passion to students of all ages across Bermuda”.
“His commitment to nurturing young musicians has made him a treasured figure in the island’s arts community.”
All proceeds from the event will go to support the Drum School.
Tickets for the night’s entertainment are $60, cash only, available at The Music Box on Reid Street in Hamilton or at Mr Ming’s Drum School, next to the St George's Community Centre.
Doors open at 6.45pm followed by a nutritious buffet dinner at 7pm sharp.
