Gibbons Company gets ready to party

Premier Paula Cox will officially open Gibbons Company’s renovated and reorganised stores at lunchtime today.She will cut the ribbon at the company’s main stores, Twenty 5 Reid and Nine West, at 12.45pm. Then she will officially open the main store’s ladies department at 12.50pm and finish with Gibbons’ new premises, The Home Store, in Washington Mall, at 1pm.The year-long project has also seen the addition of two boutiques within the main store, Desigual and Mango, both fashion lines from Spain.The company said the renovations were designed to create a more modern and inviting environment. The Twenty 5 Reid shop, previously a dress shop, now features three very popular lines of shoes Bandolino, Anne Klein and Marc Fisher.“The renovations are the fulfillment of our long-term strategy to enhance our shoppers’ experience and to remain current, offering our customers the finest shopping environment, with the best selection and prices, on-Island,” said Gibbons Company CEO Paula Clarke.Gibbons is planning a string of events over three days to celebrate the occasion. Today, tomorrow and Saturday, they will stage fashion shows twice a day, at 1.15pm and 6pm, open to the public.Music, promotions such as gifts with purchases, tasty treats, and cocktails will feature.Former Bermuda national team footballer David Bascome will attend today “with a surprise for Bermuda’s youth”, the company said.
