Bermuda Realty Company has started a new business brokerage with entrepreneur Kumi Bradshaw.Joint venture, Firm Advisory Limited, will assist in the valuation, and buying and selling of small to large locally owned businesses. It expects to have a portfolio of listings available for sale to members of the public interested in becoming entrepreneurs or expanding their own companies.Mr. Bradshaw will be president and CEO of Firm Advisory.An internationally accredited business valuation professional, Mr. Bradshaw will lead the new company’s efforts to provide business valuation in the current Bermuda market, plus business brokerage and advisory services.As a consultant, Mr. Bradshaw has helped clients in many industries with issues including purchase andsale transactions, shareholder disputes, litigation (including divorce), economic damages, estate planning and shareholder buy-outs.He is accredited through the Institute of Business Appraisers and holds the general designation of CBA (Certified Business Appraiser) as well as the senior designation of BVAL (Business Valuator Accredited for Litigation).Mr. Bradshaw has served on the accreditation board of the IBA since 2009.His book Show Me the Money: Understanding the Value of Your Business was published last year as a layperson’s guide to business value issues.Bermuda Realty president and CEO Brian Madeiros said the Island’s struggling economy was certainly challenging for businesses in Bermuda.However, “We must make every effort to explore ways of leveraging Bermuda’s innate entrepreneurial spirit; our collaborative efforts with Mr. Bradshaw seeks to do just that,” Mr. Madeiros said.“It is anticipated that the synergy between Bermuda Realty Company Limited and its extensive real estate valuation and agency related services along with Mr. Bradshaw’s niche, technical knowledge and marketing intelligence related to privately owned businesses should provide a solid base for sustainability and future growth.”Firm Advisory Limited’s offices are located in Atlantic House with Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty.Mr. Madeiros said there were very few companies offering business brokerage services and the new company allowed Bermuda Realty to offer “one -stop shopping” top its clients and new clients.
