Office products and services company AF Smith is now an authorised reseller of Apple products where customers can order online through their newly launched website — www.afsmith.bm.The company that last week confirmed six lay-offs said the new website is specifically designed with “enhanced” online ordering functions, including a live chat support feature; a function that is growing in popularity on international vendor websites.For the first time, the company’s customers are able to order and pay for Apple products online and have them delivered to their offices, said AF Smith in a statement.“We feel our new website is very indicative of our company’s commitment to innovation and staying up to date,” said Tim Smith, AF Smith CEO said. “We are extremely proud of it, its new features and the new branding look.”The website features an online Apple Store where customers can order a range of Apple products and accessories, from iPads, iPods and iMacs to cases and covers.“Our commitment to service is also reinforced on the new site. You can submit a service request using an online form and we also feature a Live Chat support page,” said Karl Boissonneault, AF Smith vice-president. “We are not aware of any other company on the Island that offers this. We want to make sure our customers know we can, and are there to, help.”Computer City responded to AF Smith’s announcement by saying it has been selling products online for 12 years and Apple products for seven years, with free same-day delivery Island-wide.
